The El Paraiso golf course is less than one hours drive, from Málaga airport or Gibraltar in an area where you are spoilt for choice with the abundance of good hotels and rental apartments on offer. The El Paraiso golf club is Situated between San Pedro de Alcántara and Estepona at Benavista, the course lies one kilometre from the El Paraiso hotel.
Without doubt, El Paraiso Golf Club is a well designed course that golfers will never tire of playing and will look forward to returning for another chance to conquer! Designed by Gary Player, the course was opened in 1973 and is one of the oldest established golf courses on the coast. For more than twenty years it has been a mecca of golf, whether you are a low handicap or just wanting to enjoy a round of golf on your holiday, the course offers golfers of all ages and abilities an exciting challenge.
The setting is incomparable - lush fairways are punctuated by meandering streams, flanked by palm trees and an abundance of exotic fauna, including oleander, jacaranda and mimosas. Lakes provide a home for water birds and the golf balls of the unwary! With many good golf holes to choose from, without doubt the 6th, a dogleg left par 5, must be the best hole on the course. The drive has to be accurate to avoid two well positioned bunkers, left and right, and your second shot must favor the left centre of the fairway to miss the lake that catches any wayward ball. Finally, your approach has again to be accurate, to a two tiered green, to give you any chance of that elusive "birdie".
