The Lauro 27 Golf course is set on a hillside of the Mijas mountain range in a place of extraordinary beauty and excellent climate. Part of the golf course is in a protected construction free area, where nature is continuous, along the way you can see rabbits, ducks, partridges, herons and even eagles benefiting from the high number of trees and the 14 lakes within the course.
The Lauro 27 golf course is recognised as one of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol in Spain. Its designer Falco Nardi, elaborated a mainly flat 18 hole course, where technique and strategy make it a challenge to players of all handicap. The second 9 hole course designed by Mariano Benitez and inaugurated in 2003, respects the holm oak forest and other existing trees. The location and design make this course and add variety to the complex.
Lauro Golf Club House is set in a cortijo of over two hundred years called “El Paredón”. According to people from the area, the cortijo was once a hide out for bandits, amongst them one called “Pasoslargos”.
The Lauro Golf course, was enlarged from 18 to 27 holes and the latter holes were designed by Mariano Benitez. The Lauro 27 golf course can be played with out a buggy as it is mostly flat although there are two holes at the foot of the mountain which offer exceptional views over the Guadalhorce Valley and Mediterranean sea.
